It is no secret that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Etsy!! I have honestly found the greatest things there. Great people who like to share ideas, people who create amazing, beautiful and adorable things!! I would like to introduce you to one of my favorite finds...and a really awesome fellow Etsian.

I ran across RoyalRugrats on etsy one day while clicking around and admiring the skill and talent of many. I was taken aback by Brooke's ability to create an awesome pretend-play item for kids!!! Friends, we are talking the CUTEST food...bacon and eggs, donuts, all out layered sandwhiches - PB&J and Subs!! She has veggies, ice cream, pastries, hot dogs and MORE!!

Brooke of RoyalRugrats designs and makes THE MOST adorable "Eco Felt Play Food!"
I asked Brooke a few weeks ago if I could share her creativity with everyone - and she said YES!!! Brooke, her family, and her business "RoyalRugrats" reside in the Husdon Valley region of New York state...about 45 minutes from NYC. She is inspired by her 5 year old daughter, who one day asked her mom for some soft play food for her kitchen. Brooke said that about a month and 40 pieces of play food later, she thought other moms might like her unique product, so she placed some Eco Felt Play Food into her etsy shop. Within 2 weeks, Brooke had over 60 sales!!! Wow!! She also added these to her website, www.royalrugrats.com. This has since become a full time business for Brooke. She says that she has found "that even in today's economy, people are still wanting environmentally fun play foods for their kids, in place of the mass produced, hard plastic kinds or cheap felt imitations."

Brooke says that her daughter is who helped shape "RoyalRugrats" yummy creations, as she is always ready to share her OWN thoughts and ideas on mom's designs!

When asked what motivates Brooke the most, her answer was easy. She LOVES what she does! Brooke said "I am grateful to every customer who has supported this endeavor and allows me to use my training and be creative as well as gives me the flexibility to be home with my daughter every night."
Her business is growing and growing. She continues to develop her packaging, but is proud to use only biodegradeable bags to package each product.

I would like to suggest a few things on Brooke's site. First of all, you need some basic items for your kitchen!! Check out the Medium or Large Grocery list which contains ALOT of CUTE things...veggies, eggs, pastries, pastas (yes!! the cutest bow-tie and ravioli!!), and more! AND...its almost Easter - and Brooke has created the most adorable "Eco Felt PEEPS!" Yes...little bunnies and chicks...how CUTE is that??!?!?!

Brooke is so thankful for all her family who supports her in every way. Her mother, also a quilter and crafter, her daughter - her inspiration, her dad, aunts, uncles, and cousins, and especially her husband, who is (I love this and can totally relate) "unyielding in his support of having a wife who has an endless need for fabrics, glue, thread and paper!" haha!

Finally, Brooke would like to GIVE AWAY an item from her shop!!!! This ADORABLE "Pop Tart" play pastry is up for grabs!!! Just leave me a quick note telling us what you think about Brooke's work on my blog and I will use random.org to find out who wins!!! I can personally tell you that these are soft, well made little food items, perfect for little ones to play with!!! I came across this great jewelry website called ChunkyBling.com. They specialize in those cute, beaded, interchangeable watches. But they've also got a great selection of chunky bracelets, rings, and interchangeable charm necklaces. This jewelry is really cute and the price is really great! They even have a jewelry naming contest where you can win stuff. If you haven't checked them out, you should definitely take a look at their site. My favorite band and face combo is the Medium Round Silver face...with (oh, okay, I have 3 favorites) either the Perfectly Posh Pearls, the Breakfast at Tiffany's, or Diamonds and Ice!!!! Hi...been a while, I know. I had some time to make a few things...only 2 of which I have photos for. I worked a little on a teacher gift for Valentine's Day...or...someone and did some hand cutting this weekend. I'll post those pics later. I did create this GREAT little butterfly montage, perfect for someone having a little girl!! Too bad ALL my friends just had BOYS!!!

Then, that Valentine Decoration...its only about 5" tall, maybe 6. What else should I do with a gazillion yards of ribbon that I own? haha. Teacher gift was the plan...we'll see. Its pretty dang cute hanging in my kitchen.

I'm sure I'll have the camera out tomorrow afternoon...hopefully I can finish the shirts. My kids and I will be creating those over the next few days. Until then....

Streamers are $7 and I will need to know if your/your daughter's hair is shoulder length (or shorter) or very long (mid back or longer). Bows are made to match the warm-ups. Love the little bird embroidery... It was made for a little one, thus the smaller 2" bow, but I was inspired and I made a "larger" one with spikes (believe it or not, its only about 2.5" wide)!
